Manowar is a metal band that was formed in New York state in 1980. The band is known for their lyrical themes of swords and sorcery as well as having several metal songs that are about heavy metal music. They have never had major commercial success in North America but maintain a strong cult following here as well as a huge following in Europe, Japan, and South America.
