John & Yoko “Let Them Stay” Button

When the Nixon and U.S. government tried to have John Lennon deported in the early 70’s for his anti-Vietnam war activism there was a groudswell of support. This button was one item that was produced at the time. Lennon eventually won the deportation case on 8 October 1975, when a court of appeals barred the deportation attempt, stating ” … the courts will not condone selective deportation based upon secret political grounds.”
